Digital Mammography

General Information

Digital Mammography is a specific type of imaging that uses a low-dose x-ray system for examining the breasts and has been proven to be the most sensitive test to detect breast cancer.  There is significant evidence to support that successful treatment of breast cancer is linked to early diagnosis.  Digital mammography plays a central part in the early detection of breast cancer because it can show changes in the breast well in advance of a patient's ability to feel them.  If additional images are needed, VRI will expedite your follow up appointments and have a radiologist available to speak with you once your images have been reviewed.
